LBL Deer Hunting 2024

I
Cont........

11:00, 4 does being dogged by a nice 8 point.

4:15, an even nicer 8 point came through searching. When he'd cross the trails from where the does went, he'd put his nose to the ground and follow the trail for a few steps before moving on to the next one. It was cool to see.

5:20, had 2 more does feed in front of me. They kept looking back, but nothing else came along.

Both the 8 points were nice deer, but younger than I'm wanting to shoot. It's just the first day of November and I have a full freezer.
I only heard 1 shot after 10:30 and that was just after 5.

They're on to us. I've heard just a fraction of the shots I heard by this time yesterday. Judging by the number of hunters in the campground this morning, compared to yesterday morning, there's a lot more people in the woods today, too.
Same observation here also. Few shoots compared to yesterday. Piney Campground is full of hunters. What campground you in?

I know I didn't see it when I was up there for my sons juvenile hunt. It was really cool to be able to see that.
Without check-in and photos for convenience store brag board, no reason to go inside. Without #'s at check-in station, no reason to drop-by. It seems that is just the way they want it. LBL even removed the historic pdf hunt results that were posted previously. I saved them somewhere.

BTW....my son wanted to drive to check station at lunch and we did. Got a photo of a big buck I can post later.

They still do mandatory check-in at Ft. Knox and this year doing CWD sampling due to that game farm which now makes FTK at CWD zone.

I would rather stay in the woods, but my son has to eat and see some bucks to get motivated again.

I agree. I asked about it and said they wasn't doing it this year. Said you don't even have to check your deer in there. Just check it in online. Maybe they will bring it back some day. How did y'all's hunt go?

I'm missing my first hunt there in a long time. I was drawn and supposed to be there in the same area I've hunted since 2003, but something much more important came up.
