Miles LSU

Wonder if they go after the Memphis Coach. I don't think it is warranted but they are not asking me.

I doubt it. I don't think LSU will be satisfied with anything less than another Power-5 coach. Maybe they'll go after Gary Patterson from TCU.

It's funny -- four weeks ago LSU was a favorite for the national championship and now their coach is about to be fired.

I doubt Les will have much trouble finding another job -- too many Power 5 openings already. I'd bet Va Tech and either of the USC's would be very interested.

Sounds like its a done deal from what I hear. Booger McFarland, a loyal LSU guy, was on the radio yesterday and acted like he was already gone.

I agree with Zulu...I think they will target an existing head coach with at least one Power-5 Championship on his resume. Or perhaps an OC with multiple Championships under his belt.

Dabo Sweeney? Kirby Smart?

Rumor is, Chip Kelly is out in Philly. LSU is a name that is popping up. Look out if he goes there. Imo I think USC Trojans will be the landing spot if he is out in Philly.

As mentioned just a few weeks ago they were a contender and now hes possibly fired? That's stupid and the AD better have his ducks in a row or he's gone too. What's crazy is he wouldn't pony up $300k to keep Chavis as his defensive coordinator but is willing to pay $15 mil to buy out Miles. Crazy math I tell ya.

The people at LSU would / will be insane to fire him. 77.4% win record. They should call up to Knoxville and ask them how firing a national championship coach works out for you just because he doesn't win it every year. Don't get me wrong I bleed Orange, therefore I know of the Pandora's box they are about to open.

I think they are out of their minds too. Find the best OC and offer him 1.5 million...but you don't fire a coach with a National Championship, played in two National Championship games, won two SEC titles and won three division crowns, won 110 games averaging 10 wins a season over an 11 year stretch...all in the toughest conference of college football.

I'm telling you, they are drinking the wrong kind of Kool-Aid.
They will wind up just like Tennessee, flat on their face and irrelevant.
I guess the bright side is, some guy will become a multi-millionaire if he can get them back to bowl eligible. (not that he wouldn't be as soon as they hire him, but I am referring to the super pay increase he'll receive for doing so).
Oh well, guess we'll sit back and watch our conference get a little weaker for the next 6-10 years.

As a LSU fan. Miles is a good coach for about the first 6 games of each season. The last 6 it's a toss up on what kinda coaching you get out of him. Most of his win come off lucky plays. Right now LSU isn't wanting to get in a hole like Tennessee has dug itself in. Yea miles may have a good win % but, he gets out coached by any coach that knows how to stop the run.

Deerbuster, I won't disagree with you at all.
I just hate to see another SEC team with a good coach make a bad move, too soon.
If they had waited until after the season, and had a solid candidate lined up (not that they don't), it would have been a better deal all around IMO.

That's the results of a riverboat gambler type of coach.

I'm sick of big time college sports. LSU will get what they deserve.

Big money boosters make stupid things happen. Georgia is well known for it. Same with the Longhorns, but LSU boosters are preparing to be the world champs of stupid. .

He hasn't been fired yet. But everyone is certain he will be. It already hurting our recruiting as out #1 QB commit has backed out.

Rumor around here is Fisher is who they want. My problem with Miles is he is an awful game day coach when it comes to adjustments and his teams never play smart football and are handkerchief magnets. Great talent is rarely used to full potential. Look at Landry and Beckham in the NFL. You'll see Dural and Dupree play at a high level on Sundays soon too. It's one thing to lose to Bama all the time but when you're getting outcoached and blown out by Belima you got a big problem.
