Muzzleloader Distance

200 yards and I've been able to shoot that distance at the range. I also killed a Buck last season at 150. I chronographed my load and can dial to 200 yards.

1757 FPS at the muzzle. Adjust scope up 7 MOA and it falls right into the bulls eye at 200 yards.

100 grains Blackhorn 209 with Federal 209 primers and 300 grain Powerbelt Aerolite.

Here's the buck I killed at 150

300 yards, my longest kill was 260 yards. CVA accura v2, 45 caliber, 110 grains blackhorn, 195 gr barnes expander. One hole groups at a hundred.

I have a new CVA, LR 45, I have not hunted with much. Pushing a 45 cal 285 grain, ELR bullet, 2300 fps. It is a shooter also, CVA guys tell me it will kill to 500 yards, I hunt a couple places where that is a very possible shot, I will never try to shoot over 300 yards though.

I got a flintlock recently, I am hunting with it a good bit, 100 yards max with open sights. Well until I get new sights, probably 80 yards, I don't like the sights that came on it.

With the load I now shoot, probably 100 yards. I shoot 80 gr. Triple 7 and 350 gr Maxi Hunter. I used to shoot 90 gr. Triple 7 and Nosler .451 260 gr. JHP with sabot. I took a wild shot about 20 years ago and hit him right behind shoulder, at 191 yards. I said, wild shot.;)

150 yards. 120 grains of pyrodex and 348 grain Powerbelt out of a CVA Electra. I have never lost a deer with this combo. Usually a bang flop situation.
