Need Info from TSS guys

These items are all part of the load data or recipe...

...and are UNIQUE to each load that has been tested for safety, pressure signs etc. You cannot just change a hull or wad because another one is out of stock or not made any more. There is no substitution as every tested load is just that, a combination of parts that has been tested and cleared for safe loading.

I understand that much. All I'm looking for is an idea of what wad I "could" be looking for that is still actually made that may or may not be part of a secret load set up.

I'll Pm Hal and ask him as well even if I have to pay for it. Just seems odd that info is such a secret that no one wants to shed and details without Hal's approval.

Andy and Rockhound have done a great job of answering all of the questions already. My only suggestion is if you want to load it in the future is go ahead and buy 5pounds of shot NOW. Get the loads for 20 and 12 and start checking availability. When you figure out what you want to shoot start buying it as it becomes available. Most of us have enough components to to spare a few here and there to cover each other and do if something isn't available at the moment. I said I would never shoot anything but a nitro, but TSS has blown me away. The other thing I would add is to build a trap as suggested already or use someone else's, we retained 95% of our shot to reload again this spring by using one. At my last calculations I am somewhere around $6 for a 20 gauge load and at $7 for a 12 gauge. If you retain the shot you don't have but about .50 cents per shot in testing and I'll give $7 every time I need it to scatter turkey blood in the leaves.

If anyone is looking for lil gun I have about 5 pounds I could part with.
 
Thanks. I have 4lbs but will be adding more and I found lil gun locally which was nice. If I end up using Hal's stubby round then I'll have to trade powders

Just seems A lot of guys are doing it yet no one seems to want to get into details off line about it. Everyone says buy the components as they come available but when you are fully green like me that's not really possible when you don't know what your suppose to buy. Just crazy to me that there is 1 guy out there in North Carolina that has all the rights to details on how to load a successful 20 gauge round.

I fully understand guys don't want to share info they paid for for free or posting it in a public forum but wow man this has been super crazy trying to get any specifics on.

If I have to buy a lb of shot from Hal just to get the shot then I guess that's the way it has to be.

Gonna build a trap as well for sure for testing. For the price of shot seems there wasn't a choice in that matter lol

It's not that we don't want to share it but Hal is the one who has and continues to have these loads tested so that there is no guess work involved for us. You load it the way he says and you have a guaranteed shooter. We don't pay for load data, we purchase shot and he gives us tested loads with pressure data that if you follow and use the components that he tells you to buy they are well within specs. You can't just throw components together and expect not to blow yourself up. You can't go find load data for a 3.5" Winchester lead turkey load and buy the components and add 2.5 ounces of TSS to it and roll crimp it. He has spent years testing and putting these loads together and spends a great deal of money sending loads off to have pressure tested. I don't know about everyone else but I'm not going to be responsible for someone losing a hand because I gave them the wrong info.

And again I'm not asking for anyone to provide exact details on step by step set up and grains etc. all I'm trying to find out is what freaking wads or hulls I need to be looking for or card stock etc. I'm not trying to piss people off here and I'm aware he spent lots of money getting all this test data done.

I see this is not going to go the way I had hoped so no worries here I'll just try and figure it all out another way. I am a grown man that has been around guns and ammo my entire life so let's please stop with blowing people up. I'm not an idiot that's gonna load up rouge shells and just see what happens. I am fully aware of the risks of loading shells as well as the whole concept of it and how it all works.

All you have to do is contact Hal, he will give you what you need. No need to try another way at all. Tell him your plans and you will have what you need to start your search this week. Good luck this season and if I can help you with the loading I can send you my number and walk you through it on the phone.

ok got a LB of 9.5 coming from Hal and he sent me the load data to use. Obviously the 2 popular ones the wads are no longer available which sucks. gonna try and get what i can get but some of it I'm not 100% sure what i am buying and i am also 100% sure i am not confident on how i am putting this all together hahahah. I have a LB of Lil Gun powder and a LB of H110 so i can run try any of his loads.

after getting the list it seems a bit more complicated then i was thinking until i do a few of them to figure out each step......SOOO which one of your ragamuffins wants to do a video of step by step set up and send it to me or FaceTime me and walk me though it like a child lol.

i still have to get hulls, wads, felt, cork and card as well as buffer which i will try and do over the next few days. if anyone has some extras you would be willing to part with in the mean time let me know i could pay you back when i actually get some in or i could pay you for some of it.
 
Make sure and get a set of reloading scales if you haven't already gotten them in the way. Once you get everything in I'll be glad to walk you through it. I think there are some YouTube videos out there too. The ingredients Hal gave you go in the hull in he order he gave them to you.
 
Have scales on the way. Seems the 410 and 28g felt is no where to be found as are any of the wad options which I expected so if anyone has some they would sell or trade let me know.

I'd set 7 hulls out and put powder in all, then build your wads with Mylar felt and cork as directed. Put wads in shell, measure shot for all, then buffer, put in overshot card and then roll crimp. It's really easy.
