Rain Hunting Strategy with a ML

Luckily we don't use the # 11 precision caps like we use to. And we don't use real measured powder like most of us did back in the day. Some still do I know. That was about a 50/50 shot of going off when you shot especially in the rain. I still just put tape over the end of the barrel back then. The 209 primers are very reliable doesn't really matter if they get wet really. Just put painters tape over the end of the barrel and keep the muzzle down. If it's pouring rain my powder will stay dry in the gun case at home. Little drizzle I can deal with that.
I still use real black powder. But thankfully I've moved up to an inline, which is much easier to keep dry.

Oh I'm not worried about me getting wet, I'm worried about my ML not going off if my powder gets wet
Inline? Rubber finger stalls, from any pharmacy. They look like tiny little condoms & fit perfectly over your muzzle. Much more secure & waterproof than tape.

Flintlock? Cow's knee, freezer bag, whatever it takes!

Percussion? A little patch lube on the sides of the nipple before you put the cap on.

I used to hunt with rain gear/umbrella, but now I have several shooting houses for this type of weather. However, I will be joining a friend on his land for the weekend, so I'm at his mercy. Don't know what I'm walking into but hoping he'll have something in the dry as this is my first time hunting there.
