Rain this weekend

Whelp no gobbles and the yelps quit. I'm guessing since I had nothing to go toward I will sit and wait with my decoys out and calling very little. That bout right?

When u guys hear no gobble but a few yelps at first light do u continue to wait for the gobbles I heard yesterday or do u go stalking hoping to move in closer to some birds. At this point I don't know where they are roosting but the yelps I heard earlier were on the other side of the creek in the woods. Tips?

It has yet to rain today. I heard more yelps back at me about 100 yards across the creek with the cows but I haven't heard any in about an hour now

He is staying in the woods about 70 yards away on the other side of the creek. Should I move in? He's gobbling his head of to me

So much for that. He has quit gobbling. I was trying to ease sneak close to the creek area. Once I got closer with the sound he's gobbles got further away and now quit. I'm so mad at myself

It is probably about to start trying to rain in a min and I pushed him off somewhere in the quiet distance. Lol.

Patience is a turkey hunters best friend. If he's coming in stop calling and let him may not always work but I can remember a few last minute calls that sent them in the other direction. save the stalking for When you get to know the terrain real well

reminds me of the sunday evening of opening weekend! I'll never again call one that's coming in lol

He didn't want to cross the barbed fence or creek. I snuck on this side and have posted up for a while

Like ImThere said patience kills turkeys. It's awful tempting to jump up and go but if he's 70 yards away he will see you 9 times out of 10 before you see him and then shut up and get the heck out of dodge. Sit still and even cut back on the calling. They come in silent a lot looking for the "hen" so be ready.
