If your talking about Russell Moccasin...NUMEROUS times over the years I've been close to ordering a pair but that price tag gets me every time. I've heard they're still top notch. 10-15 years ago they were "only" $250-300 but I just didn't have it to spare. Just looked a minute ago and they're $500 plus. Yikes!

I've heard there's none better but just can't justify the spend. I've got an old pair of Rocky snake boots and added a $19 set of waterproof booties...dry feet, snakeproof, and after 9 years (and counting) they are broken in like a pair of fine Chuck Taylor's.

I have two pairs.

A pair of high country hunters I grouse hunt in, and they're great except in the snow. My feet get wet in the snow. Extremely comfortable and tough as nails, they just returned from Russell and are good as new

I also have a pair of Turtlekin Snake Boots and they're pretty good, extremely comfortable and tough. The issue I've had is waterproof ness, creek crossings are fine, but heavy dew covered grass and my feet are damp. It's not a huge issue but something that needs to be said.

No doubt they're insanely costly but I would spend the same or more replacing crap boots for the lifespan of my Russell's

If you have the cash get the custom ones, the fit of mine are phenomenal and it's like wearing tennis shoes except with the support of a great pair of hunting boots,

I got the claw sole and promise I can climb the side of my house in them.

I agree on the waterproof thing, and that's what drove me to Russell. They are durable and more comfortable than any store bought boot. They do have water issues in really wet conditions
