Everywhere actually. The breakdown for these six were: two in fields, three in woods, one on an edge. Found a set last week of a buck, dropped back in December from being wounded, on a fence crossing.

Early shedding do to environmental stress? Heat, drought, failed acorn crop, lasting cold weather period.

We've had deer shedding in March after mild winters without the other stress factors.

Early spring and a good summer would be really nice. Said it already. But our bucks are in the worse shape I've ever seen them in.

In my area, all of the "weirdness" was driven by the drought and acorn failure. We saw similar weird patterns after the drought and acorn failure in 2022. Although the poor health and extra stress is worse this year than 2022.
