We put some miles in yesterday.
Home grown?
I barely have any left with antlers at this point. My local bucks started dropping early January and the antlers dropped like crazy. Never seen anything like it.
Those shed in the early 90s
Everywhere actually. The breakdown for these six were: two in fields, three in woods, one on an edge. Found a set last week of a buck, dropped back in December from being wounded, on a fence crossing.Do yall find them in fields, edges, woods?
Not too far from you.Home grown?
Same. We found 3 sheds Saturday. My local bucks started dropping early January and the antlers dropped like crazy. Never seen anything like it.
Early shedding do to environmental stress? Heat, drought, failed acorn crop, lasting cold weather period. My local bucks started dropping early January and the antlers dropped like crazy. Never seen anything like it.
In my area, all of the "weirdness" was driven by the drought and acorn failure. We saw similar weird patterns after the drought and acorn failure in 2022. Although the poor health and extra stress is worse this year than 2022.BSK? Would you say this has been a strange year all together. This whole season has been weird to me. Maybe it's just me.
