Shed season has begun….

My boys are still hanging tough at the moment, but I'm 90% sure one of the does I saw yesterday wasn't. I'm going to try for a last minute squirrel hunt and see if I can stumble across something.

As of 10 minutes ago:

looked at 40 bucks this past weekend. Only a handful had shed as of thus far on my farms.

Went and walked a little thicket this evening and came up with 1.

Walked couple hours. One small one. Beautiful day outdoors.

Finding a few but seeing a lot of bucks still holding. Snow this week so I'll get out again after that

Went out to Hardeman county today and pulled sd cards. Walked 5 miles looking for sheds and didn't find any. Checked cards at home and they are still on their heads. Hoped to have caught some turkey pics but did'nt.

Had one dropped one side this morning. He had been in my plot with both sides and 19 minutes later he was back and was missing his left. Spent over an hour walking my field then went back and spent another forty minutes walking trails, no luck.

Found a chalky and a fresh one. Still not in the right places apparently.

I saw our neighborhood deer yesterday afternoon and 3 bucks still had both sides of antler, another buck still had 1 side. S.W. Tn.

Walked about three miles after the rain let up, found another but not one I was hoping to find.

Most in my areas of Stewart County have shed, but still seeing a few with antlers.

Carroll County update: We saw two big bucks with antlers along the road Tuesday night (3/17). Yesterday morning a neighbor saw a bachelor group of five young antlered bucks in fields behind his house (3/18).

Not uncommon to see some bucks with their antlers during spring turkey season. I think the buck to doe ratio is way doe heavy here.
