Thoughts? Looking to by a few cell cams and looking for something with longevity with as few hiccups as possible.

Kids got me one for Christmas a couple years ago. It was the RevealX2.0 I think??? Seemed great at first but in hindsight just sent enough pics to make me think it was working.

It was set up over a plot. And it did send pics but not nearly enough to coincide with the browse pressure the plot was showing, so I set up an SD cams next to it and the difference was astounding. Last time I was there I stood in front of it waving my arms and doing jumping jacks. It didn't take my pic once. So all that time I'm left wondering what has it missed?

I don't know if mine just sucks or what because it's the only cell cam I've had, or will have. I'll continue with my SD cams.

Its true these cameras miss a lot. They capture a lot too. I can't figure it out. I will have a buck coming straight in from 100 yards and I will only get one picture. Quality sucks too hard to tell a rack on a buck if its over 20 yards from camera. I hate it because I am fully vested in them. Customer service is great too.

If you ever put one close to a stand where you are hunting, it is amazing how many animals they miss. You don't know what they miss until you are observing it first hand. It is eye opening.

Yep watched 6 gobblers feed right by mine while I was in the stand and nada...

All these comments are 💯 percent right.
My daytime pictures aren't that great.
I also added solar panels and battery packs to mine. But when they go out I will replace them with something else.

I use two cell cameras on my place, but I also have a dozen traditional cameras. I use the cell cameras to give me an idea on movement when I'm not on the property. I also think there is a lot of "misses" based on the pictures I get on my traditional cameras.
BTW, one is a Tactacam and the other is Browning. When it comes time to replace, I'm not sure I would go with either.

I will also say this. Compared to the Moultries that I have bought tactacams look like reconyx. So don't replace junk with worse junk. I am going all to wise eyes and spartan next year. Besides my regular browning cameras.

Not sure about misses but they work, the resolution isn't great. For the $ I like them but it would be nice to see clearer pics like a regular cam, probably have to spend more to get better quality like Spartan. You can request HD pics to get a better look but it takes 24hrs before they come thru.

I can't vouche for them missing photos but overall I'm happy with them. The phone app doesn't produce crystal clear photos, but if you pull the card they will be - which kind of defeats the cellular aspect.. I just like to get a general idea of movement etc and it does that well with giving a decent quality photo. If you don't have the expectations of being able to see every single point on a buck at all distances, crystal clear, then you should be happy. Also, make sure to use the correct SD card - that's huge for it to function properly.

Whatever you do, don't get a spypoint.

I was happy with them until i got a Gardepro. The flash range difference is double the range of a tactacam.
I like my GardePros for their flash range, but I've noticed they miss quite a few triggers as well. Can't say the same for the Brownings. The only time the Brownings miss something it's generally because the animal (or person) is walking straight at the camera. But then most brands will miss those.

I have good luck with tactacam.

Don't have good luck with stealth cam . 4 cell cams and all are run away brides. 3 of them take pics every 15 minutes non stop . The other not as much but still takes a lot of junk.

Dislike reconyx app and u can only use lithium batteries. Enough so with the app I don't want to use the cams.

High failure with browning and the initial connection setup is awful.

Spypoint , nope.

Moultrie is just ok. Prefer removable sd card as backup. They don't have one anymore.

Spartan , I'm not crazy about it . Only have 1 go live .

The gardepro , just started the cell cam 2 days ago but it's promising so far.
