This is a false misconception believed by so many. You, nor I, nor anyone else can kill enough in an immediate area to have a lasting impression on the coyote herd for years to come.

Yeah killing the number one fawn predator and a significant poult predator will have zero impact....btw I shot 4 this year, a bobcat, and trapped another coyote and two foxes. On 300 acres. No impact. And my turkey numbers are great. So tKe out a predator any chance you get

Correct, because as fast as you can shoot them (4 a year is not really all that fast), another one just moves in and takes over the dead yote's territory. There have been several scientific studies that suggest this is the case, thus why I am sharing here. Whether you choose to believe it or not is up to you, but I don't drink the kool-aid any more than me, or anyone else killing 1-3 yotes a year is making an appreciable long term impact on the prey.

If that floats your boat, go for it, just don't believe you are making an impact to the ecosystem on a grand scale.

I'd wouldn't shoot. As stated above, one yote doesn't make a difference in a local den.

I agree with what Andy S. said about not making an big impact on the ecosystem, but you can't let them take over. It sort-of depends on the situation. Depends on how many coyotes you have on your land/lease.

Don't pay your taxes...one tax payer won't make a dent in the deficit. Unless all your neighbors pay their taxes too.
