whats the rules? how many birds can each team member register in the contest?
Still drafting the rules....
Each team member will be allowed one turkey, their best. If that person kills a bird on the first day of season, they record and enter it. If/when that person kills another bird and it is better than the previous, it replaces the previous best bird as an UPGRADE and is entered into the contest.
If we go with 8 team members per team, we will use the top 7 bird scores for that teams official contest score. This allows a little leeway if a persons area was poor of turkeys, they come home empty handed every outing no matter how hard they try, or even God forbid a member get hurt while hunting and is out of commission for the remainder of the season.... It would give the team a 1 bird buffer and not hurt the team score in the end as bad. Some people get to hunt more than others and some people just have bad luck at times...
Each week (Sunday night) team scores should be updated and posted in a thread that will be for that teams weekly total. I will then gather all that info and enter it into a Current Running Team Score Thread that will be a sticky at the top.
It will be important for the team members to report their kills and scores to the team kill thread. Then it is the captains responsibility to record the members new scores and calculate the weekly team score to post in the weekly team total thread.
ALL BIRDS WILL BE SCORED USING THE NWTF SCORING SYSTEM
You will be required to take pictures of the measurements when measuring the spurs & beard(s).... along with a picture showing the turkey hanging on a scale... then you can show a closer view to read the weight. MUST BE ABLE to read the measurements in the pics.... it may require you to have help to take pics.
Any MULTI-Beards MUST show the separation between the beards.... A split beard does not count as a multi-beard. If you don't plainly show the separation between beards, it will be scored as a single bearded turkey (using the longest beard).
Feel free to weigh in if you have ideas or suggestions....
