So the name will swirl but now said three names to watch.
Bob Stoops (not Mark)
Billy Napier
Luke Fickell

Bob Stoops hasn't coached college football in 5 years so if he takes the job we will see if his the same guy.

Napier is being named a top candidate for ever job opening.

Rumors is fickle rejected USC, and wants to stay where he is at, but who knows.

Gonna be interesting Jimbo fisher name keeps popping up for LSU job. Which leaves A&M open.

Lane Kiffin still The hottest name, as a UT fan hope he goes on down to Miami. that leaves Ole Miss open.

And Mark Stoops is a popular candidate to leave KY.

They say he's happy where he's at, but money talks. Maybe he sees what happened to Fuente, Norvell, and countless others that went from a VIP big fish in a small pond, to a small insignificant fish in a big pond, to a dead fish with no pond.

Yeah, that's why if I was Lane I would get a big raise and stay at Ole Miss. 7-8 wins keeps fan base happy beat state throw in a 9 win season every now and then and his golden.

UF you can win 10 & 11 games and go to the SEC chip, and fired a year later.

Which job gets filled first. UF, USC, LSU, Virginia Tech, if Miami Fires, Miami?
I think a lot of it depends on who each team pursues. Yes a lot of the same names will float around. But I could see USC or Miami hiring someone that neither of the other teams would even consider. UF and LSU are the best jobs IMO.

Hearing Aranda wants back on the west coast where he's from. USC or Washington. A lot of people said he isn't interested in the LSU job like some think. Hearing Napier names is what UF is targeting. But if Aranda turns down LSU will they shift to him? Hope not. But he has a lot of ties in Louisiana.

Aranda may turn out to be a pretty good or even great coach. But one year where he is at probably isn't the best guage. I feel like LSU would be "settling" over some bigger names if they hired him

One thing is for sure LSU or UF can make (most) any coach look competent for a year or three. It takes a few years to really see what they amount to

Lane can't get the kind of raise he'd likely want from Ole Miss.

The coach is a state employee, so he falls under state regulations.
I haven't kept up with this recently, but last I heard - Ole Miss simply isn't allowed to pay a coach what other schools pay - regardless of whether they had the money and could afford it.

This may have changed and I could be wrong...

And they can obviously build in thinks like incentives...

His incentives are good I'm sure Ole Miss can get crazy with it if they really wanted to.

$50,000 when he become bowl eligible.

$500,000 if he sticks it out with Ole Miss till the end of the year.

$150,000 for every SEC win starting with the 5th in a season.
$100,000 for every non SEC power 5 win
$150,000 to make it to SEC chip
$400,000 For SEC chip Victory
125,000 making it to group of six bowl.
250,000 for new year six bowl

Not bad to add stuff like that up on top of his 5+ million salary next season
