This guy is a bit short on over-all dimensions, but I like his look!
I was thinking the exact same thingIf he could make another year without any major damage he would likely make significant gains next year. He's right on the cusp. Beautiful shape and symmetry.
Best one so far look at what ticks done to his ear.
Can you expound on that further JCDEERMAN?We have some good deer 2 very good deer but nothing to make me hunt velvet. It would take a 160 plus for that. As of now we seem back to normal compared to last year. Last year bigger buck numbers seem lower then normal. This year seems back to average.
I assume you mean me? But anyways last year it seemed rack wise were across the board a little smaller even mature deer didn't seem to be as big for what ever reason. But this year they seem back to normal. A 110 inch 8 point for lack of a better term "common" on our places where as last year it seemed as if those deer were 80 to 90 inches. I just wrote it off as we had a decent drought the fall of 2022 almost no acorns that years and a giant freeze also that killed a lot of browse. And we saw smaller deer in 2023 as a result. We still had some great deer but overall it seemed down. Can you expound on that further JCDEERMAN?
I passed a real nice young wide 8 last year a couple times, hoping he will be around. I need to get a couple more cams out, to see what else may be around. Pretty sure I had this same buck on a fence row about 3 weeks earlier before I moved that camera.Best one we have gotten pics of so far is maybe 20 inch inside 8 point that looks young. Will try to get on my laptop later and upload a pic from it.

Luckily have found a bunch if nails. We can get together and build a treestand ….lolSo I've managed to get out 10 cameras across 4 different properties in the last couple weeks and lo and behold I have located a hammer! Target is acquired and season can't get here fast enough…
Yes deerhunter10, I meant you. Thanks. Very interesting and we saw something similar. Normally, we're going to have at least one buck 140+, and sometimes several. We have a 150+ about every other year. But last year, the best buck we had regularly using the property was the one I killed - a 131 10-point. No monsters. We'll see how this year goes.I assume you mean me? But anyways last year it seemed rack wise were across the board a little smaller even mature deer didn't seem to be as big for what ever reason. Great deerThis is our best one we have this year. He was a nice 3.5 yo 125 in last year, we passed him up. Pics are deceiving, he is only 135in this year as a 4.5yo. Not big enough to want to shoot in velvet.
We had a bad year last year as most of our top end young bucks were killed by neighbors, so not expecting to have a velvet buck to hunt this year. LOTS of mature 115 to 125in bucks, but those aren't velvet bucks to kill to me.
Nice buck but he is awful poor in body conditionThis is our best one we have this year. He was a nice 3.5 yo 125 in last year, we passed him up. Pics are deceiving, he is only 135in this year as a 4.5yo. Not big enough to want to shoot in velvet.
