Velvet

I'll be looking forward to seeing pics of him as he progresses! He's got the genetics for lots of tines for sure.
we've noticed there are some odd genetics here, most have either tall skinny racks or wide short racks... some have some character/nubs around the bases... here's one I'm gonna keep track of

This is the only buck that has me excited so far, but not for this season. He's very young and small, physically smaller than an adult doe, but he's still trying to grow a wide 10pt frame. Pretty good mass as well considering his age. Hopefully he can stay alive and healthy for another 2 or 3 years.

That's a fantastic buck, JC!!! Hope you get a crack at him!
He is for what we've been seeing the last 2 years for sure! He'd probably be a game time decision for me, though If he's 4, absolutely would be shot if given the opportunity.

I'll edit to add: I haven't killed one in 2 seasons, so he'd probably get shot at 🤣

Update on not just the split brow, but another one we hadn't had a descent pic of. Now both are in one pic together

That deer in the back is older I think. The way his brows are spread way apart is something I only see in mature deer. Not every older buck has it but I've never seen it on a young buck.

Some great bucks!
To say I'm excited for the velvet opener would be an understatement.

This area hasn't been hunted but once in the last decade+ from what I've been told by the owner. There are 6 terrain features that dump into a creek system and it sets up a textbook thermal hub with ag 1/3 of a mile away.

Best of luck! It's normally dependent on my mood. I can't stand the heat 🤣

Here's one I targeted a few years ago. I hunted him hard for 3 days. On Sunday evening he showed up a half hour before dark. I had him inside 50 yards for over 20 minutes and was never able to get a favorable shot opportunity…I came to full draw 4 different times but just didn't feel comfortable taking the shot. He shed a week later and I never seen him again
