Those horns look brutal I'd love those mounted on a cherry wood plate personally.Best so far.View attachment 237060

Last little push. Most are just filling out now. The velvet hunt is so close to when they are coming out of velvet they are done just have to rub the velvet off. I killed a deer in 2022 the day after Thanksgiving in full velvet. But he only had one nut.Are the antlers still growing as long as they are in velvet. Or have most reached the point of topping out. I don't hunt the velvet hunt just because I always thought they probably had more growing to do. But I also get the cool factor in it.

Look at the tips of the points and beams. If they are still a bit bulbous, and have a dark shiny tip, they are still growing. Once they stop growing the tips narrow down to a point and get lighter in color. Are the antlers still growing as long as they are in velvet. Or have most reached the point of topping out. I glassed up a shooter last night! I'm hoping to get some pics of him by this weekend.
I tell you this new iPhone with the three camera lenses makes it virtually impossible to take a picture through your Bino….Well don't hold back! I wana see this shooter so post some pics!!! .... and maybe gps coordinates too
othing special antlerwise (other than being a 10-point) but his body makes me think he's an older buck, which is what I'm after.
My standards are a lot lower than yours. I will take a 3 1/2+ 120 any day!I looked over 35 to 40 bucks in bachelor groups this past weekend on a scouting trip up in TN. Nothing worth shooting during the velvet hunt, a couple in the high 120s/ low 130s.
