A friend and I did some work for a collector, and in return, I was able to pick from his collection. I love Early Archaic points, so I chose these two early stage Pine Tree points. I'm proud to look after them til my time is done.

Awesome! Man I love pine trees, one of my favorite point types.
I have a beauty my Cousin gave me that he found years ago close to the Cumberland river. I will try and post a picture when I get a chance.

They are among my favorites, and I'm thinking seriously about exclusively collecting them. First stage Pines really grab my attention, but I love the exhausted ones too.

Love them!!

Did you ever cross paths with a lady named Carrie Tanner? She had to have one of the largest pine tree collections in the US. I've saw her in the auctions, to drop $1,200+ a point on them and bid and win multiple ones through out the auctions at those prices. If it was a 1st stage or close to one...and G10 rating...she didn't care what it cost her to get. She passed away a couple yrs ago, suddenly and at a relatively young age. She loved some Sonora material too. Nobody could outbid her on something she wanted. I thought I'd done something one night and got a dover pine out from under her. She laughed and said I could have that ole nasty dover material 🤪

Ha! She sounds like Dennis and his Sonora gang with their Dover hate lol. 😁Dover is my favorite material!

I never knew her, but I've known several like that who are determined to get a point, and by golly they'll get it!

Decent Pines are somewhat affordable for me compared to other early archaic stuff, so I think I'm gonna add a couple here and there when the timing is right. Even if it's just a frame of 30 or so, it would still be a good little collection. But, you know how that goes, it could get bad and I'd end up with way too many!😂😂
