What did you do today in the reloading room?

Loaded 7.62x39, 125 Sierra Prohunter and 125 Ballistic Tips, both .308 dia., CFE BLK. I've already settled on a deer load for the 16" AR upper, but want to get a bit more chrono data.

Picked up my new toolbox for my reloading/gun room.

Shot some leftover rounds from my last match at 600 and wanted to test some gun handling techniques. Pretty pleased with these results out of a .308 and bipod at 600.

Finally got around to reloading some 7-08's.

Tray of 50

Never shot a 7-08 before. Hope my neck thinks it is ok without a brake.

Im a 7-08 fan, I have two. What rifle and what combo did you load up?

If you need a light load I killed a monster boar last month with

25grs IMR 4198
140 Nosler BT

Entered just behind the right eye and exited out the left shoulder

243ish recoil

Awesome groupings buddy! What techniques were you testing if you don't mind sharing?
Don't mind at all. 1. I was testing whether it was better with or without my cheek piece. Totally free recoil or just a smidge of cheek. 2. I was testing whether to zoom out for heavy mirage or adjust POA with full zoom. I think my best groups were totally free recoil and fully zoomed in. Also it's better to apply pressure to the bag for micro adjustments than to use any cheek or trigger hand pressure. Ymmv

This hold is exactly how I shoot my .22. Free recoil and the lightest of cheek contact. Some ammo requires a light back pressure on the bipod tho.

Continuing my search for my favorite 6.5 grendel load. 129 nosler accubond long range over 27 gr of aa2520. I have a few hogs back around the house so I may see how these perform tonight and see if they outperform my current favorite 6.5 grendel bullet (120 Sierra Prohunter). The ABLR's are an easy loading bullet for sure.
How did these work out for you?

They shoot very good for me. I hate to report on performance too much right now. I did shoot 5 hogs out of one group one night with them but they were 15-75 pounders. I prefer to shoot some big ones to judge on, just about anything will do well on the little ones. With the acorns we have this year, probably not much hog killing going on til winter.

It is not as hot as I would have used to load but because of physical (maybe mental) limitations.
That is what I settled on.
Of coarse in my Nosler manual it said it was the most accurate measured load they tested for that powder in the 7-08.

I was reloading some 40S&W last night when my SDB decided it needed a break. Yeah, that's not a figure of speech either. The screw that holds the shell plate on broke on the return stroke. I had planned on sending the SDB to Dillon for them to do the clean and lube but opted to get some reloads stocked up first. Guess I'll be getting that done now.
I've got the press ready to be packed up and shipped, just waiting on the RMA from Dillon.
