I seen all the haters of the caliber but wanted one anyway. I've fired many calibers and feel the .270 is the best all around caliber, why? Because I used one for a few decades and it never failed to put the round where I wanted it. But after I have used the 7.62 effectively, I figured time to get a .308. Hunted that for about eight years, the 300Blk for about five, and now trying out the 277WLV and the 6.5 CM. Of all the calibers I have used, the only one that I feel let me down was the 30-30, and it was really my fault in that I pushed beyond it's capability, because it did fine at 100yds and under, but still. Many even hunt the hell out of pistol calibers, I have yet to bloody my .44, but am sure it will do fine. People always feel "their" caliber is the best, because it works for them, but in reality most any caliber will work within it's capability, you just have to be good with it.
