If you can't find any at Midwest, you might check out Frerd Cox's strikers. I started using them last year and really liked the sound they produced. I personally liked either the Dymandwood or Yellowheart on Aluminum, and Yellowheart on slate. They have a nice feel and are well made.
yeah i checked his out but wow $28 for a striker is tuff! ebony must have gone WAY up in price these days.

I doubt the wood has gone up, the demand for custom strikers has shot through the roof. What is amazing is how little the wood cost, and once you get a lathe set it takes no time to spin a striker. It's almost all profit after a while.

im going to pick a few up on Friday from him not sure which one yet though. hopefully he has a few there. planning on picking up a call or two from him also.
I have been using Harold's Strikers from GA for 20yrs, none better IMO..

I made a mistake earlier saying yellow heart was one of my go to strikers. It's actually tulipwood from Fred Cox. Guess I'm losing my mind the older I get
