Final Spring Kill Numbers

The Facebookers are really wound up now, there's several on there claiming they feed Turkey's, but also proclaiming they are better hunters than most so I'm not sure how that works. Also apparently wildlife would not survive if the turkey master didn't have his management plan in place that was divised by the 2 best biologists in the world. Apparently that's grant woods and an unnamed biologist, and a slew of others he contacts on a daily basis.

Glad to see those folks who have a ton of birds are admitting they feed to concentrate them, like everyone didn't know already. Like shooting fish in a barrel; corn is crack to turkeys. I almost wish I could justify running corn in my creep feeders, I could pull a ton of birds legally I think. But the decreased weight gain on the calves when compared to ration pellets is too big of a hit to take, even if it would improve the number of birds on my farms.

If you ever wondered how we almost wiped out the American Bison, read the TN Turkey Facebook page. "Those are my turkeys and no government man can tell me what to do".

I agree with this. I find it hilarious when people like to point a finger at the "new generation" hunters, when in all honesty you look at the biggest pushers against any change seems to always be mid to later aged hunters who are land owners who always argue "my land has no decline why should I care about the rest of the state". There's good and bad hunters in all age groups. We need to focus on solutions not excuses. And we need to be willing to make sacrifices today to avoid losing this species again.

That's me he is talking to lol

He may be a competent hunter and land manager. A legend in his own mind, to be sure. But his butchering of the English langugae is an abomination.

Lol that's awesome!

once you run them around in circles enough, they'll put you on ignore :) but it's quite entertaining yet saddening to realize the level of stupidity and ignorance these people have. I hope they aren't the average turkey hunter. Most of the people who are avid in real life have been great people. I don't think I'd want to be neighbors with any of those guys

Good. We don't need any of them making recommendations. If it were up to them, season would open Mar 1st and end June 1st with a 10 bird limit and you would get to earn bonus birds for reaping.
