Got to say something-- Chokes/Loads

Setterman/jim....I met someone today that said he use to hunt with you a few years ago......he said you shot a bps pump 12 ga. And it had a kicks gobbling thunder in it....the one things you were honest about was the shells you shoot ......is that true? ??

Seem to remember a post last season from The Captain about a longbeard he missed at Chuck Swan with a 20 gauge. I believe he said he missed but then was able to call up and kill another turkey later on that morning. Maybe some one with more computer knowledge could find this post and deflate his head just a bit

Is this the "miss" post you speak of?

You guys are too funny sometimes.....

Hahah I have just been waiting to find the right time to post that gif just so happened it was on here.

That thread Andy posted really came back to bit me. I missed 2 last year 1 when I didn't have my gun up and tried to pull an shoot....missed at 15yds. 2nd miss the bird came over the hill way to the right when I thought he should have been infront of me and tried to swing and shoot. Neither I should have even tried but did and learned a lesson.

Didn't mean to highjack thread by calling out the Captain, but he of all people should know any good turkey hunter who says he has never missed is not to be taken seriously. Happen to agree with him about this choke/load debate. A lot of this new technology is just overkill in my opinion. I have too much respect for turkeys to ever shoot at one past 40 yards.

I guess i am insane because i have patterned my gun to 80 yards and i know what the limitations are and 75 yards is not out of the question. Do i regularly shoot at turkeys at 75 yards? Heck no but i like them inside fifty and like to know if i misjudge the yardage which is easy for me i dont have to worry about it.

wow, what kind of pattern do you even get at 80yds...not being sarcastic i honestly just want to see what that even looks like. I have never shot mine at paper past 40 so i cant even image what paper would look like at double that.

Nope, I have shot an Ithaca Turkey Slayer since I was in High School in Miss. I didn't move here until about 7 years ago. I now shot a SBEII.

I don't know very many folks here, kind of an a-hole :)

Does the turkey slayer pattern good the same guy said one of his buddies has one and is wanting to sell it ....he only wanted 500.00 for it....I have heard good things about them.....and if you have killed the amount of turkeys you have with it they most shot pretty darn Good....

Yes, I know some other folks who have had issues.
