Yep..... Kind of like UF being 11-1 against a well known local team.....

True, but that would have been, MAYBE, 5-6 at best had Gruden been at the helm ;) :tu: !

Gruden and UT were a lot farther apart than the dreamers would like for anyone to believe.

Exactly. UT made an offer of $30mil over 6 years. Gruden listened, but if anyone seriously thinks he almost quit a gig working 6 months for $10 mil for that, they are smoking crack.

Oh, and are you on record as stating that it won't happen this time?

Yep

It will almost be funny if they do hire him. Bcse over the last 6-7 years it has become quiet comical. :rotf:

The NFL is going down the tubes, Gruden would be better off at UT, Espn has and will lay-off more

?

ABSOLUTELY. John Gruden will not be UT's coach. You can take that to the bank.

ESPN definitely has problems, but Gruden is not going to be laid off or lose his MNF gig.

I've said all along that the timing is very different this time around.

I'll let this out....I've been told that Gruden has expressed being tired of the political slant of ESPN and the NFL "kneeling" controversy. Couple that with ESPN's efforts at budget cutting...it's only a matter of time that his contract comes under scrutiny.

Those issues, along with a new more compliant UT Administration, and Manning's handling of the boosters issues....it's a new day.

New day and same outcome... Gruden trolls TN once again. :rotf:

During the week prior to SC, back channels float the ADs interest to Gruden himself. Gruden had a previously scheduled trip arranged for Knoxville that weekend, and both sides take the opportunity to "bump" into each other several times, with various intermediaries, and ultimately the AD and Gruden. The "bumps" convey the ADs level of commitment to going forward. A detailed offer is not made, but Gruden is given the broad strokes. Gruden responds that he would be interested in receiving a detailed offer and would give it serious consideration.
