Please take the offer John please!!! You have a farm there and all.

Well take it for what its worth.

A pretty reliable source told me Butchie is done after a ALABAMA loss on Saturday and Gruden is NOT going to be the coach.

That's all I got.

Pretty much what everyone is saying but one person on TNDEER. :rotf:

This is SO fun!

The parties part ways, each promising to work up their own side of a proposal. For Gruden this means deciding his own salary requirements, as well as a detailed list of his desired staffing budget and personnel, as well as the extent of whatever program control he may desire. For the AD, it means putting the lawyers to work drafting most likely a MOU hat would be the basis for a formal contract. These activities take time for both sides.

In the meantime, Butch Jones comes to the realization that his resume is more tarnished than he was previously willing to accept. He is also starting a potentially epic Bama beat down in the face. He wants his money, but he also wants out of Knoxville with as much of a coaching reputation as he can salvage for future job interviews. He begins negotiating with the AD over whether there is a way he can escape Knoxville.

The AD releases to several media outlets (247, VQ, Hyams, Pete Thamel) that he "really would prefer not to have to fire Butch this season." This translates as "I'm going to fire you this season, work with me on the buyout."

So, Butch and AD are negotiating with each other, AD is working on a proposal for Gruden AND still vetting other names, and Gruden is working on his side of the deal to present back to AD. And everyone is also doing their normal day jobs on top of this, which includes MNF, running a University athletic department, and coaching a football team.

Lots of moving parts. Lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what-have-yous. It's going to take time and nothing is imminent at the moment. Be excellent to each other, keep calm, Grude on, and soon!

Is this copied and pasted from the last time they reached out to him? When he wanted 10 million per year??? :rotf: :rotf:

Please pay him

Just that he was already making 6.5 million at Broadcasting with another 2 million+ in side deals and not really having to work at it all that hard. He seems to be enjoying what he is doing and has open doors everywhere.

A bad run with the Vols could close alot of those doors for him. If I were him I would not want the headaches associated with all the butt kissing and fundraising that goes along with the job . It seems like a lateral move financially at best with his Broadcasting job having the potential to be so much more.

I don't see him taking it.

i got vols signing Gruden at 30 to 1

thats better odds than swamp donkey ever touching another east trophy :rotf:

If CJM had all of his missing players and no hurricane, he would probably be 6-1. I doubt many would disagree with that. Lost the last two games to top 25 teams by a total of 3 points.

"Why after Bama? Butch wont be fired mid-season."

-PillsburyDoughBoy about 3 days ago

Not Gruden news but I was listening to Jimmy Hyams this evening on the way home. They were discussing Kevin Sumlin and whether he would be fired or not. Jimmy ended saying that he thought there would be 2 or 3 coaches that would either be fired or would leave on their own because they wanted out of the conference.

If the vols win out after the Alabama game (which is entirely possible), that would be a 9-4 season I think if they won a bowl game.
Wouldn't that record keep jones for another season?
The losses the vols have this year were against good teams and we're very close aside from uga. I do think jones is innover his head but 9-4 and I bet he stays.

Yeah if the vols beat LSU,Vandy,KY,Missouri....Then won a bowl I could see CBJ starting next year.

I just don't see that happening.

If it does that would not be a bad season at all really your talking about losses to #1bama, #3UGA, UF in the swamp. Only bad loss would be SC at home.

It will just never happen They will drop another game after bama or get beat in the bowl game.

I think there is to much fan apathy, myself included. I am hearing a lot of fans just not care as much anymore. If they don't let him go this year, next year will see a steep decline in ticket sales and season ticket renewals. The tickets were already sold for this year so that won't effect ticket sales for this year, but could effect attendance. Although, most that won't go anymore this year will give their tickets away to someone who doesn't get to go much or sale them really cheap.
