HB 1618

if you feel that strong then call your representative and give them your thoughts and not just complain here.
Great advice....and I did email him last time a bill came up on baiting.
He replied and said he wasnt on the committee that was hearing the bill but if given the opportunity he would share my comments and concerns.

And NO disrespect intended. I admire your desire to carry your family hunting with the limited time you have available to hunt....but our circumstances do not dictate what is best for wildlife and whether we hunt small acreage, large acreage, public land or private land we should consider what is healthy and good for all wildlife...and Im not complaining, I'm sharing concerns pertaining to HB1618.

Taking bags of corn out for America's greatest game animal just cheapens "hunting" further than it's already been cheapened by technology and every other advancement. People seem to have a never ending desire to make it easier to make up for a lack of woodsmanship skill or habitat improvements. Slob tactics are detrimental to the sport of hunting but don't listen to the ones telling you, just keep pushing hunting into an even bigger joke than it already is.

And if I wanted to see more deer on my private land I'd do what everyone else does and that's make habitat improvements that benefit all wildlife instead of going to the damn feed store like a slob

What if we are doing habitat improvement have for years. I still go to the feed store for protein pellets and deer feed. I've even got compliments on just how healthy my deer look on camera and in the field.🤔

You plant corn, bushhog it. On private. Or leave it standing. All with the intent to attract deer, kill one over it. So, isnt this a form of baiting? All plots being hunted over are. It just makes it where everyone can do it. What's really the difference. Just alot of work, cost, chemicals, expense in planting. Not just crazy about it, but it is just this.
No matter how hard someone tries they cannot control the success of any crop that is planted or mast from trees, Mother Nature does that. Poor soil, weather, etc affects productivity of plants. Supplemental feeding is always controlled by the folks that put it out.

I posted HB1618 so that everyone would know this bill is on the floor for a vote. Yes I'm for it and that is my opinion. You have your opinions. But we don't need to turn this into a unsportsmanlike conversation. You do you and I'll do me. I feed deer on the farm 3/4s of the year, I can't during hunting season. I would like to year round. Not corn high dollar feed. It has really made a big difference. So again you hunt your hunt.

That's people's opinions that's what you asked for. You keep saying hunt your hunt. We are the ones that are for baiting are the ones trying to change the way we hunt our hunt. In all honesty it should be illegal to bait year round. Summer baiting is the most risky anyways.

No, you do you. Hunt your hunt the way you want to. No matter how everyone else does.
I use the very best deer food with advice from game biologist and game ranchers.

If it passes what will the regulations be for turkey season? And how in the world will that ever be regulated? Not to mention all the health risks for baiting. You may do it right but 99 percent won't. I think it's a very short sided argument and not a single good point has been made in any of these threads over the years for it.

There's also a pile of studies showing supplemental feeding is practically useless in our area with some exceptions but not many But there's a pile of negatives. So you can have your biologist and game ranchers but if that's what they are pushing I would find new ones.

If my memory serves me right there's a thread about it from last year or the year before.

You asked for opinions and have whined every time someone has said they were against it. You just came to stir the pot. You should change your name to BAIT YOUR HUNT!
