Live from the stand 2023

Sounds exciting! Think he's living in the area or just visiting?
Not 100% sure. Had him on cam 2 times in early October and then nothing until last night. This is a pretty good sized piece of public and there are a lot of large private parcels bordering it so pretty tough to narrow him down. Wondering if when bachelor group broke up he went somewhere else and maybe the dominant buck that stayed in this particular area was shot in the last week or 2 so he's moving back in? That's kind of what im hoping. Thoughts?

I'd guess he's visiting for the girls he knows live there. One is probably getting close. He might be there for a couple days or a couple weeks. Hard to say but I think if you want him you gotta hunt him as much as you can as soon as you can. He likely knows of other does in other places.

I thought you might say that. My wife may not like that answer. Lol.

Just popped a yote about a hundred yards out about 15 minutes ago. That was my goal this morning. Maybe another will show up.

Last day in NE & the Lord blessed me with a beautiful sunrise!

Little different wind today so moved to other side of shelterbelts bordered by pond & slough. Deer bedding in the cat tails & marsh grass, lots of big rubs including some made on fenceposts. Historically I suck on last day hunts but hopeful that today is different. NW wind is supposed to get to 20-25 mid day for few hours, then shifting to N with falling temps. Maybe that'll push them to alfalfa to feed this afternoon. Did pass on a 125ish 9 point late yesterday. No interest in shooting something smaller here than I have on my TN place. Oh yeah, the 10 that my buddy shot yesterday morning will easily push 150" with really good mass. Will post trip story & pics once we get home.

Good luck to all hunting today!

Changed it up this morning. Came to a stand I don't hunt much because it's in their bedding area. Got in the stand at 8:31 hoping they've moved out for the morning and I can catch something coming back to it.
Hope you are fortunate to kill one of your shooters brother .

Was slow this morning with only a few does seen. 28 mph north winds have subsided to 22 mph 🤣 & staring straight into them. Wedged in between a fuel tank & water tank on 57 acre alfalfa pivot for cover, gotta say that this setup is first for me! Temp falling like a rock so thankful for a little cover.

Field has rolling hills in it that I can't see over. Buddy that killed the 10 yesterday is on top of a big hill about 400 yds behind me spotting for me & texting which direction to look 🫣. Been here 5 minutes & he's seen two bucks cruising that I can't see 😞. Gonna be a rough two hours but if the buck shows up that we saw here Saturday it'll be worth it.

The rolling hills are tough if you're not elevated. I hunt a field like that and the deer know how to use it. They are good at staying below the horizon. If I'm on the ground there could be a dozen deer 100yds in front of me in an open field and I wouldn't know it. But from 6ft up a tree I can see everything.

That little rise out in front of you sure doesn't help. That said I hope you are able to get a shot, good luck.
