Other buddy just shot twice and buck down. It's across the water from him but can see white belly. It'll take him a bit to get to it, but he said it wasn't the great big one . Now I'm the only old fart left with everyone out of my way .

He is ugly. Left tips looked like acorns. Thought he was hurt. Stumbled around in a thicket sat there for an hour.

I can honestly say I've never killed a deer mid day but I guess they move every now and then mid day. Peep the time on this one.

When I ran a hunting lodge in Kansas most of our deer were taken between 10am and 2pm every season

The wind shift yesterday afternoon payed off for one of the guys with a 125-130 nine point following four does. Was tickled for him & he is happy. 70 yrs old, 6 pack of stints, 4 bypasses & diabetes & he was looking forward to sleeping in this morning!
That's two old farts done, two of us to go & two days to hunt . Beautiful morning at 26 degrees & very light wind for a change. First morning like this since Saturday when we saw the 160ish buck chasing. 25-40 mph winds tomorrow afternoon, so time to get this done!
Setup on hill in crp about 1/2 mile off 57 acres of alfalfa overlooking a pond pinch point between two shelterbelts.

well another quick sit tonight. Big boy popped out, made a quick scrape and went right back into the thick stuff. Reached for my grunt tube, but was no where to be found. in my other bag. dang it. No shot opportunities. Had him on cam a few times, but first time ive seen him in person. He made the buck I arrowed on halloween look like a youngster. Very cool encounter.
