Things found in the woods

My 85 yr old uncle's hearing aid.

We had turkey hunted one morning, went to eat breakfast, and had finished eating. He started fiddling with his ear, looked at me and said, "I've lost my hearing aid." We scoured the restaurant floor and parking lot. We looked through every cranny in my truck. In desperation i said, "We've got to retrace our steps from this morning's hunt." We drove back to our parking spot and i followed the trail where we walked in before daylight thinking the whole time it was an exercise in futility. When i got to the tree where we set up, i saw something shining and the hearing aid was resting on top of a pile of leaves.

Glad you found it.

Some of the more memorable things... a satanic ritual site, active moonshine still, lots and lots of weed, an old barge steam engine that I later read about crashing in that curve in a Fentress history book. Another was an old hunting camp under a bluff with a wood stove and a boarded up wall to the outside deep in the Big South Fork. My wife's grandpa had told me of camping there long ago for many nights while coonhunting before the government took over and blocked the access.

Would love to know the story with this. Up on a hump beside a Creek in the woods

Found a bus in the middle of a steep hollow in area 15 at LBL - would love to know the story behind that

There's a school bus on it's side in the woods at my lease in Henderson county. It's at least a half a mile off the nearest blacktop. I'd love to hear the story on that.

There is a old car of some sort in Area 13 at LBL, but there is an old logging road there, so that is not as strange, but I wondered why it was abandoned there.
This the car lol.

I to have found stuff from tornados in 2011. Most from Eider Alabama. A bible, a check book and must have been 100 baseball cards. I did get into contact with owner and she was ok. I disposed of it for her. I also found a balloon in a tree with a card attached. It was from a breast cancer awareness week at a hospital. It had a ladies name on it and ask whoever found it to pray for them and to contact the hospital. The lady was doing well last I checked and I was over 400 miles away from the hospital. Pretty cool I thought.

Several years ago (1999 I think) after the tornados hit Jackson TN, I found some papers scattered through the woods while turkey hunting in Houston Co. They were receipts and paperwork from a store in Jackson. A few years later after a tornado hit Dyersburg, I found some family pictures and a few pages from a Dyer County high school yearbook on another property in Houston Co. Amazing how far that kind of stuff can travel.

I didn't mention several meth operations on my property. The last one was categorized as a "medium sized working meth lab" by the meth task force. The co investigator asked me if I carried something with me when I was out on my property, and I said I'm never out here without having a firearm, (had a sidearm and an AR on me then even) and he said good, bc one day you're going come up on them in the act, and they'll do one of two things, they'll either run, or they won't...be ready for the latter. I'm always thinking of that when I'm out there.

Horse and Cow skulls at Milan Ammunition Plant and I had to search for clean shorts after they detonated some stuff on a cold Tuesday morning.

I've found Weather Balloons and what appeared to be an old slave burial plot at Catoosa once.

I've never seen a couple in the woods, but y'all may have seen me a few times.

I've never found an arrowhead anywhere!

I stumbled upon this ammo belt one morning with my daughter and then could not find it again the next day with my son!

I was a young boy fishing in a hole below a steep rocky bluff when a sudden downpour came. To wait out the storm I crawled up under a ledge. Doing what kids do, I got bored & started flipping rocks over to look for critters. I never found a critter but I did find a 4"x2" spear head, perfectly preserved & still pretty sharp. I've found plenty arrowheads through the years but never anything quite like that or in such an accidental way as that.

That sounds like an awesome point. Care to share a picture?

Found this 9 point skull rack on Ensley this month. I scored it at 129+. I've also found a pocket knife I'd lost the year before and my cell phone that I had dropped while turkey hunting. I lost my wallet while dropping a deuce and found it several hours later. I've found several sheds but never while looking for sheds.
