What did you do today in the reloading room?

Started getting my muzzleloader things together. Found out I had 275gr and 250gr bullets mixed together. Got them separated out and vials loaded. I'll confirm zero tomorrow.
That'll do

So now I've got to know: twist rate? Barrel length? Speed? Bullets? Powder?

Also, straight neck down? Or more custom than that?

I had been sort of looking at 6WSMs, but that feels a little click-ish right now
It's built on a Howa 1500 action with a 26" fluted Hart barrel (~#4 Krieger profile I think). 10" twist. I tried several bullets when I first built this ~15 years ago and settled on the 110 Accubond with Magpro powder and Winchester brass. MV is ~3520 fps. I used 270WSM brass and trim the necks down a little then run thru a redding bushing die straight down to 25 Caliber. Then just skim the necks again for a "cleanup". Pretty easy! These days, a 8.5" twist with some heavier bullets would be interesting but I just use this for deer hunting. I also have a 6mm-284 that is a lot of fun, but that's a different story.

There's a 400yd and 500yd factory class ground hog shoot coming up so I had to take the brake off my ctr. Reworked a load with some 123's I had, seems to have potential.

6.5cm
123 Hornady bthp
43.2grs h4350
Hornady brass
Cci200 sparklers

6 shots at 125yds

Ground hog is on 11x17 paper. 10 ring on the head is 3/4" I believe

Sounds fun. Good luck. It sure looks like that load will get it done.

Shot out to 1,250 yards again today. Even though I have a nice 6.5x284 load with H1000 and Berger 153.5's at 2940 fps, decided to try my favorite powder VV N570 in it. Was not disappointed!

6.5x284 w/.225" freebore and 27" barrel
Hit pressure at 3090 fps with 153.5gr Berger's but had an excellent node at 3020 fps.

I haven't tried my n570 yet. I got it at the same time I ordered Ramshot LRT for my 28 Nosler. Seems it's a winner in 6.5X284.
