I'm sure its a great call. But I'd hate to think I need a 50 or 100$ call to kill turkeys lol.

These crack me up, $100 for an item that should last forever and is a handmade masterpiece is essentially nothing. Especially if you compare it to all the other annual costs associated with hunting.

You certainly don't need it to kill birds, but I guarantee there is a bird or two every year I kill because of it. Maybe it's not its sound, but more my confidence when using it.

Statements like above are very narrow minded imo, and somewhat uneducated

Settermam- that was a light hearted statement with no negative under tones. You might want to think before you talk bad of someone and try an degrade somebody.

FYI- I have quite a few letters after my name and to make it personal I have no problem calling in 20+ birds annually to the gun with the cheapest calls made. You need calling lessons?

I've been around a day or two in the turkey world, and there is simply no comparison to how a cheap call sounds with a high quality custom call. I am not degrading you personally, just highlighting your flawed perspective from my point of view and wealth of experience.

Sure there are plenty of love crazed lonely gobblers every season that you could kill rubbing two sticks together, but there are plenty as well that are not swayed by some hollow tone plastic pot junk call from wal mart. It's just that simple.

Not really sure what letters after your name means, but I've got them as well, some I was born with and some that took many years of college to earn. What's your point?

Again, it's $100 most of us spend that on gas in a week during turkey season. If it makes a difference one time it is worth it, and if it gives a hunter confidence to stick with a bird then it is also worth it. This is not rocket science to understand.

The reference to letters was my many years spent in college and your statement of calling me uneducated.

I don't mind some poking fun back an forth but in the future might refrain from trying to degrade someone.

I rarely use pot calls myself. Mouth call man. The only time I use a pot is when I encounter one of those tough birds an my go to is an aluminum call that David Hale made at his house he gave me 20 years ago when I was a kid. That's my confidence call lol.

Good evening sir

I doubt David Hale was making any calls at his house 20yrs ago... Now if you had said 30 maybe so.... Just saying.. [emoji14]op: :stir:

Considering I live fairly close and hunted bordering farms to his in ky yes. You think he quits tinkering just cause he made it big.
Far as I know call might be 30 years old. I just know I became the owner 20 years ago.

That sounds like one helluva season that anyone would be tickled to have. You ought to post up some pictures and a summary recap after this spring so we can enjoy it too. Just a thought....

.........and besides, who needs a call to kill a stupid turkey!!! RIght???
Exactly...just a pile of corn and a good .22. :pop:

That's why I carry a corncob striker. If the hunting slows, I just throw the striker on the ground and hunt over it...

Good for you I'm happy you got to hunt there, it's not that great of a place. The only reason they'll be a pissing match is cause YOUR antagonistic post doubting the legitimacy of my own personal statement.

FYI-i drink a lot of water. Lol

Can't wait to see one flopping next weekend boys! [emoji12]

Apparently you didn't read my post. I never said anything about who made the call. I even acknowledged it was probably a great call. I simply light heartedly said I didn't need one that expensive.

FYI-mine was given to me. That means it was "FREE".

I will post it up for sure. I got a ongoing thread in serious deer hunting that chronicles my daily hunting activities. Even though it's for deer, while I'm turkey hunting I'm scouting an shed hunting. Deer are always on the brain! [emoji16]
