I can remember when my grandpa who is to old and feeble to hunt now could take a piece of johnson grass and call any turkey in the mountains "no decoy, no fanning" but he shot one and crippled it up one time and came around the corner where my dad had some decoys and sure shot up my dads gobbler decoy"just imagine if dad had of been laying there with a fan hooked to his barrel" ugly" NO THANKS

That's why i do it in the middle of wide open fields with short grass,, out of shot gun range and your body is exposed.

Not saying it didnt look cool during the first half of the video of coarse if they showed us falling out of the tree would we all wear safety belts or continue to chance it.I could see the wide open field but the last part of the video kind of changed my mind on any attempt to try it but it they"d showed a video with the way your talking we"d prob all be putt"n on the fans :dance:
 
We sound like a bunch of women on facebook but at least it pertains to something that makes since "HUNTING"
 
I love "fanning". This is how I kill most of my turkeys. I done it before they started making gun attachments. I also watched that video someone posted about fanning and killing a person. If you have ever seen a turkey walk through mile high grass before in full strut, then I would say to you sir wake up and stop dreaming. It will NEVER happen. On a second note, if you can not tell the difference between a person crawling with a fake turkey or "fan" then you need to sell your gun, stay out of the woods and on the couch.

The problem is I'm not worried about guys on here shooting me. I'm worried about the other stupid dumba$$ out hunting that has no clue. I'm not willing to trust people "no better" these days.

Better yet just go to sporting goods section of your local Walmart the Friday night before the opener, you will get a chance to meet a few of these fine specimens! Lol
