Just shot a pretty decent wide 8 with my phone, should have video I can upload later on. He was following a doe, pretty cool grunting if my phone picked it up.
Maybe you'll get another chance at him brother .Set up in the same spot I did this morning. I set this stand up for a north wind overlooking this patch of woods. The field is to my hard right and that's where I missed a solid 155"+- at first light. I honestly could have shot him walking in before daylight. He was bedded in the edge of the woods and I seen eyes and then could tell it wasn't a doe by how big his head was. I kept the light on him and put my binocs up and was pretty sure it was the big 10 I been after. He blew and trotted for about 10 yards and stopped and I kept going. I knew he wasn't leaving his doe. He stepped out right at daylight and I shanked it.

I could only barely hear the grunting on my phone, but it is there. Figure this buck could be a really nice one if he makes it to next year or better yet a couple years, guessing he is probably close to 17.5 inside now at 2.5. Downside is my son is looking to get his first deer and I couldn't tell him to pass him if we were to see him.Just shot a pretty decent wide 8 with my phone, should have video I can upload later on. Might explain the low hit, got really lucky to get a second shot.
No way I would have seen it. Honestly happened too fast, I had just gotten in the stand and didn't even have the caps on my scope flipped open.Wouldn't have even seen it through the scope.
And just like that, another one bites the dust. Fourth yote of this season. Are they ever tough to see in that yellow grass though.Aside from being covered up in squirrels, pretty eventless morning here. Cell cam activity at the other end of my farm has dropped off again too. Really need to check my regular cams. Was hoping to bust another coyote or two down in this bottom, not looking very promising.
