It's been tough finding deer on this property this year.

Same stand and seems to be almost the same scene as yesterday with my son. Doe and fawn out here when we climbed up again, but this time the other side of the brush pile.

Decided to hunt a different spot this morning. Dead end private road. Seen one doe so far. My stand is my truck this morning. Judge me if you will. Then my wife sends me a text.

I'd have a slingshot with me, quiet and won't cause more than bruise them if you hit them. BB/airsoft pistol would accomplish the same thing.

Slept in. Seen a buck chasing on the way here. Tongue sticking out. Going on the ground today in case I need to slip around quick. Forrest floor is quite from all the rain. Just glad to be back in the woods. 20 gauge loaded with 3" slugs.

New spot on tva land. A little strip of hardwoods amongst pine thickets. It also is a pinch point between the lake and a green field. Only...I didn't realize it was the opening day of duck season. It sounds like the Civil War out here.

Back down in the bottom. Little 4 point just walked by. Was about 5 minutes behind, but still in the stand about 25 minutes before legal light. Watched someone with a flashlight walk in on the property behind me. Doe just came by from opposite direction. And another doe.

Just passed a really big 6. Shot video of him with my phone. Deer is going towards where the flashlight come in this morning.

Will upload video later, but this is the 6 that just went through. I had him in my scope and put the gun down and pulled my phone out and tried to video. Think he stayed on me following a doe. Hopefully he circled back around. Well one of them just blew. Bet they winded it saw flashlight guy.

Up to five different bucks this morning. Mostly 1.5 year olds. Beautiful morning.

Hadn't seen a deer the last two hours, but the wind has picked up a bit, blowing almost straight into my face, and just had a big one blowing back to my left and behind me on the property behind me. Either caught my wind or whoever is on this other property. With the wind direction shouldn't have been me, the deer may have crossed my wind to get where it was though. I was about to get down, but guess I will stay a bit longer. I could hear the deer come back over onto me and back around to my right.

Have heard several shots this morning.
