I'm just doing a euro on him , he is not worthy of a shoulder mount. I did some research and found that if he is hard horned with velvet it should be fine . I put him in the freezer and leave him there for a couple of months to kill any bacteria or possible live tissue and then do my thing to him . Never been down this road before so time will tell .If you are going to get it mounted, take it to someone that is familiar with velvet mounts.
I killed an 8 point in full velvet several years ago on a December Muzzleloader hunt. Same deal, he had a shriveled up sack.
There will be shrinkage on the rack but it can be minimized.
